Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on the massive introduction of the digital ruble in Russia, which will oblige banks to provide customers with the ability to use a universal QR code. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on July 23.

It is noted that the rules will come into force on September 1, 2026.
