More than 110 million rubles will be allocated for clearing a pond on the Ai River in Zlatoust

In Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region), 111 million rubles will be spent on clearing a city pond on the Ai River over two years. Olga Sereda, head of the Department for the prevention of harmful effects of waters of the regional Ministry of Ecology, told about this at a round table about local reservoirs.

"Work has already begun in 2025. An event such as cleaning the city pond bed is being implemented. It is planned to clean it in 2026. During this time, almost 370 thousand cubic meters of sediments will be extracted from the bottom of the reservoir," the official said, quoted by the news agency " <url>".

The work is carried out under the federal project "Water of Russia", which started on January 1, 2025 as part of the national project "Environmental Well-being".

The news agency clarifies that a large-scale long-term rehabilitation project of the Miass River is currently being carried out in Chelyabinsk. By 2028, it is planned to remove more than 7 million cubic meters of sludge from the bottom of the artery.
