The Armenian authorities intend to be guided by the legislation of the Republic regarding the nationalization of the Electric Networks of Armenia company. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the Government of the Republic on July 23.

"While respecting the interim measures applied by foreign arbitral awards, everyone is also obliged to be guided by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia and international treaties establishing the rules and procedure for the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards," the document says.

It is noted that the Stockholm court's decision concerns other aspects of the dispute. They do not affect the goals of the Armenian side, which it pursued by appointing an interim managing director of the company.

On July 23, it became known that entrepreneur and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan defeated the Armenian government in the International Arbitration Court in Sweden in the case of the nationalization of the "Electric Grids of Armenia".

On July 3, the Armenian parliament adopted in the final reading laws that allow the nationalization of the company "Electric Networks of Armenia", owned by the detained Karapetyan. The opposition of the country, which considers the process illegal, expressed its disagreement with the decision.

On July 15, the opposition political parties of the Armenian parliament appealed to the Constitutional Court (CC) demanding that the law on the nationalization of Karapetyan's Electric Grids be declared unconstitutional.
