Air defense systems in the special military operation zone destroyed six guided aerial bombs and 256 enemy drones. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on July 23.
"Six guided aerial bombs, a US—made HIMARS multiple launch rocket, a Neptune long-range guided missile, as well as 256 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down," the ministry's Telegram channel said.
As specified in the department, units of the Russian group of forces "North" liberated the village of Varachino in the Sumy region. The Russian army's strikes hit the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in a number of settlements. In the Sumy region, the districts of Yastrebinoe, Khrapovshchina, Ryzhevka, Khoten and Yunakovka were hit by fire. In the Kharkiv region, Russian forces attacked the enemy near the villages of Veliky Burluk and Garbozy.
According to the calculations of the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian side lost up to 165 military personnel, seven vehicles, five artillery installations, as well as one electronic warfare station. In addition, a logistics warehouse was destroyed.
On the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that calculations of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of a special-purpose unit of the Center group of forces disrupted the rotation of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area. Drone operators use special charges capable of piercing light and medium armor.
