Three new weight and size control points have appeared in Transbaikalia
Three new weight and size control points were commissioned in the Trans-Baikal Territory in July. By the end of the current 2025, there are plans to install seven more such facilities, the press service of the regional Ministry of Construction reports.
The complexes were placed on the roads of Darasun — the State Border of the MNR near the village of Duldurga, Mogoitui — Sretensk — Olochi near Nerchinsky and at the entrance to the village of Drovyanaya.
The systems not only record weight deviations, but also detect traffic violations: driving into the oncoming lane, talking on the phone while driving and not wearing a seat belt. Data on these violations will be sent to the traffic police in the near future.
During the test launch of the points in early July, vehicles heavier than 60 tons were recorded daily in the control area. In one of the cases, the weight of a heavy truck was 93 tons, writes ChitaMedia news agency.
Until October 10, that is, the first 90 days of the control points will be considered an adaptation period. There will be no fines for violations. After this date, information about violations will be transmitted to Rostransnadzor.
Earlier it was reported that about 2 thousand km of roads are planned to be repaired in Transbaikalia by 2030. The works will be implemented within the framework of the national project.
