The Prime Minister of Poland has reshuffled the government of the country
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has made a major reshuffle in the country's government. He announced this on Wednesday, July 23, during a broadcast posted on the official YouTube channel of the chancellery.
"The government has lost weight from 26 to 21 constitutional ministers, members of the Council of Ministers," the Prime minister said.
It is noted that Waldemar Zurek has been appointed the new Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, replacing Adam Bodnar. Marcin Kervinsky returns to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration instead of Tomasz Semoniak. Tomasz Semoniak retains his position in the government, remaining the minister coordinator of the special services.
According to the Prime Minister, the priorities of the new cabinet will be "combating sabotage in the domestic arena" and restoring order.
On June 2, the Polish State Election Commission confirmed the victory of the candidate from the opposition Law and Justice party, Karol Nawrocki, in the second round of the presidential election. It is specified that Karol Nawrocki won 50.89% of the vote, and his rival, the mayor of Warsaw and candidate from the ruling "Civic Coalition" Rafal Trzaskowski, won 49.11% of the vote.
