There have been 315 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.
Over the past day, 315 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 32 people were killed and 381 injured. 24 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on July 23 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
15 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and another 16 road users, including one child, required medical assistance. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.
As a result of 68 accidents, 30 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 38 outside their area of operation, eight pedestrians were killed, 63 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 18 child pedestrians, 11 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas. 59 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 66 young road users were injured, including 25 passengers, eight cyclists and nine motor transport drivers. Two boy passengers died in one car accident.
So, in the Republic of Dagestan, in the early morning on 247 km of the federal highway R-215 Astrakhan — Makhachkala, a 39-year-old female crossover driver suddenly lost consciousness at the wheel due to poor health. Her car drove into the oncoming lane, where it collided with another passenger car driven by a 39-year-old motorist. As a result of the accident, both drivers and two minor passengers of the second car, born in 2019 and 2021, were killed. Three more passengers of the same car, including two adopted sons of the deceased driver born in 2019 and 2017, as well as the 15-year-old son of the deceased female driver of the crossover, were hospitalized with injuries.
The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to strictly observe traffic regulations and driving discipline. Risky driving, disregard for the established speed limit and dangerous maneuvers should especially not be allowed when transporting children.
"Keep an eye on your health and the correct alternation of work and rest. Never set out without rest, unwell, or with the slightest symptoms of malaise. Remember that the life and health of other road users and young passengers next to you in the vehicle cabin depend on your skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior," a police colonel told Izvestia.
