A case of negligent homicide has been opened in connection with a fire in the south of Moscow.

A criminal case on negligent homicide was initiated after a fire on Mytnaya Street in southern Moscow, in which one person was killed and 10 injured. This was reported on July 23 in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence")," the Telegram channel says.

According to the investigation, nine victims were hospitalized in city hospitals for medical treatment, one wounded man refused to be hospitalized.

Previously, the living room was equipped with bunk beds for illegal residence of foreigners. It is specified that the apartment has at least 17 beds.

The fire occurred on the night of July 23rd. Two apartments and a balcony in the building caught fire. Firefighters took 15 people out of the building. One resident died. Traffic was blocked due to the fire. Later, a pre-investigation check was organized.
