Bloomberg reported on the hacking of the US National Nuclear Safety Administration
The US National Nuclear Safety Administration has been hacked as a result of hacking Microsoft SharePoint. This was reported by Bloomberg on July 22, citing sources.
"The American agency responsible for the maintenance and development of the national nuclear weapons cache was among those who were hacked as a result of the Microsoft Corp. hack. SharePoint document management software," the publication says.
As the agency noted, there is no accurate information about the compromised classified information of the American department. At the same time, according to Bloomberg, the department suffered minimally due to the widespread use of the Microsoft M365 cloud and powerful cybersecurity systems.
Earlier, on July 20, hackers, using a vulnerability in Microsoft's SharePoint program, carried out cyber attacks on American government agencies, universities and commercial organizations. Experts have identified dozens of compromised organizations that cover the commercial and government sectors. In addition, according to research by Eye Security from the Netherlands, if hackers have access to servers that are used to connect to Outlook and Teams, they will be able to obtain confidential user data and passwords.
