A criminal case was opened into the fact that children were ill in a camp in the Chelyabinsk region.

A criminal case was opened in the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk region, on the fact of a mass illness of children in the Alyonushka health camp of the South Ural Railway (YuZhD). This was announced on July 22 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU TFR) in the Chelyabinsk region in its Telegram channel.

"A criminal case has been opened into the outbreak of the disease in a children's health camp located in the Miass city district. <...> In connection with complaints of poor health during medical diagnostics in the period from July 21 to 22, 2025, several children aged 7 to 16 showed signs of acute intestinal infection," — it is said in the message.

According to the agency, the case will be considered on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules that negligently caused mass illness of people").

All the circumstances of the incident are currently being established. It was decided to close the shift ahead of schedule.

Earlier that day, at the Alyonushka camp in the Chelyabinsk region, 28 children went to the doctors complaining of feeling unwell, five of them were hospitalized.

At the same time, according to the press service of the organization, before the opening, the camp received a conclusion from Rospotrebnadzor on compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards, and the preparation of the camp for the arrival of children was carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of medical and sanitary-hygienic safety.
