The State Duma of the Russian Federation announced the death of Mikhail Tarasenko, a member of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs. This was announced on July 22 by Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the lower house of Parliament, during a plenary session.

Tarasenko was born on November 21, 1947 in Taganrog. He received his education at the Taganrog Metallurgical College, the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic Institute and the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU. The deputy also had a PhD in Economics.
