In Crimea, a 29-year-old resident of Kerch was sentenced to 13 years in prison for transmitting data to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the state of critical infrastructure in the region, which was used to launch missile strikes. This was announced on July 22 by the press service of the anti-terrorist commission for Sevastopol.
"A court verdict has been handed down to a 29-year-old resident of Kerch, detained by employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia (Directorate of the Federal Security Service. — Ed.) in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on suspicion of high treason. The court sentenced the man to 13 years in prison," reads a message posted on the Telegram channel.
According to the press service, the man established personal contact with an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine and, on the instructions of the curator, transmitted information to Kiev about the state of critical infrastructure facilities in the region. Later, this information was used to launch missile attacks on Crimea.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason"). He was sentenced to 13 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony and further restriction of liberty for a period of 1 year and 10 months.
The day before, a native of Moldova was detained in Ryazan, who transmitted information about a unit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and an enterprise of the military-industrial complex (MIC) to the GUR of Ukraine. The ministry stressed that a criminal case has been opened on the fact of espionage under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
