An accident involving the car of the acting deputy chairman of the regional government occurred in Transbaikalia.

In the Uletovsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, a fatal accident occurred involving the acting deputy chairman of the regional government, Alexei Goncharov. This was reported on July 22 in the press service of the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The accident occurred on the evening of July 21 on the Irkutsk—Chita federal highway. The driver of a Mercedez Benz drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Toyota Fielder vehicle. As a result of the accident, a Toyota passenger born in 1978 died in the hospital.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of a person")," the Telegram channel of the SU IC of Russia for the Trans-Baikal Territory says.

Investigators are investigating the circumstances of the incident. The investigation of the case is under the control of the leadership of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
