A tourist from Saratov, who was attacked by a bear in Kamchatka, is in intensive care, her condition is assessed as serious. This was announced to Izvestia on July 22 by Vladimir Morozov, a traumatologist at the Kamchatka Regional Hospital named after Lukashevsky.
"Her condition is serious, <...> stable, it's too early to talk about any dynamics," the doctor said.
According to Morozov, the woman has multiple extensive bite wounds with damage to tendons, muscles and a scalped head wound.
"All the wounds are dirty, all are susceptible to purulent processes. We are doing bandages, intensive care is taking place in the intensive care unit with the correction of all vital functions," the traumatologist said.
Morozov clarified that doctors are currently fighting for the patient's life. He added that doctors had requested a telemedicine consultation (TMK) for the woman at the Vishnevsky Moscow Institute of Surgery, but it had not yet been agreed.
The attack on a tourist from Saratov, who was sleeping in a tent, took place on July 18. According to the regional Minister of Emergency Situations Sergey Lebedev, the woman underwent surgery and is now in intensive care. At the same time, the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory announced the initiation of a criminal case into the incident.
The next day, Oleg Melnikov, the Minister of Health of the region, reported on the positive dynamics in the condition of the injured tourist. The woman was transferred to the regional hospital.
