The Interior Ministry announced the possibility for foreigners to enter the Russian Federation without registering with ruID

Pre-registration of foreign citizens in the ruID application is not required to enter the territory of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Tuesday, July 22, by the press center of the Russian Interior Ministry.

"During the experiment, filling out an application for entry into the Russian Federation and staying in the Russian Federation is carried out on a voluntary basis," the Interior Ministry explained in an interview with TASS.

It is noted that the absence of an application is not a reason for refusal of entry of foreigners into the territory of Russia.

However, the ministry stressed that registration of a person wishing to cross the border in ruID will help ensure that he can communicate with government agencies and organizations entirely in electronic format.

Earlier, on July 17, Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volinkin reported that 3.2 thousand citizens of the republic received an electronic visa to Russia in the first half of 2025. An electronic visa allows you to stay in Russia for up to 16 days for tourist, business, humanitarian and guest purposes.
