Experts named five destinations for unusual beauty tourism

Beauty tourism in Russia is booming: more and more people are combining travel with wellness, choosing unusual spa treatments in different parts of the country. This format of recreation is especially relevant in the summer, when you want not only to change the environment, but also to improve your well-being. Yandex Travel analysts told Izvestia about this on July 22.

Although the term "beauty tourism" has appeared recently, the traditions of therapeutic recreation in Russia have existed since the 19th century. Modern travelers can not only improve their health in sanatoriums, but also try unique care practices — from bathing in thermal springs to mud baths in the mouth of a volcano.

One of the most unusual destinations is Sol—Iletsk, where the salinity of Lake Razval is comparable to the Dead Sea, and local mud helps with skin and joint problems. Outdoor enthusiasts can go to the Caucasus or Altai, where there are special routes for hiking, improving blood circulation and relieving stress.

For those who want exotics, the Tizdar mud volcano in the Krasnodar Territory is suitable.: Its mineral mud has healing properties, and there are comfortable hotels and beaches around. No less interesting are the thermal springs of Tyumen, Altai and the Caucasus, where you can relax in hot water even in winter.
