It is important for Russia that the citizens of the Russian Federation are respected in Azerbaijan. This was announced on July 21 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"It is very important for us that Russians are respected in Azerbaijan. There is a very large Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia. Almost all representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora are our law—abiding citizens who enjoy well—deserved respect here," he said at a briefing.
