Vladimir Krikunov, the former coach of the Russian national ice hockey team, announced on July 20 that he had agreed to take over the post of head coach of HC Sochi and had already discussed the upcoming appointment with Igor Grigorenko, the team's CEO.

"Igor Grigorenko from Sochi called me and offered to work as a head coach," Krikunov was quoted as saying by TASS.

It is noted that Krikunov agreed. The details will be discussed when he arrives from Latvia. At the moment, it is known that we were talking about a one-year contract.

On July 19, HC Sochi announced the termination of cooperation with head coach Vyacheslav Kozlov and assistant head coach Alexander Savchenkov.
