Germany reported on Australia's supply of 49 Abrams tanks to Ukraine

The Australian government has supplied Kiev with 49 M1A1 Abrams tanks worth $159.5 million. This was reported on July 19 by the German newspaper Bild, citing a statement by Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles.

It is reported that Kiev has already received most of this batch of tanks, and the rest will arrive in Ukraine in the coming months.

This delivery of tanks is part of a $980 million military aid package from Canberra to Kiev.

On May 19, ABC Radio reported that decommissioned American Abrams tanks promised by Australia had been sent to Ukraine. Before the start of the delivery, Australia received approval from Washington to export American tanks to a third country.
