An analogue of the Toyota RAV4 with all-wheel drive will appear in Russia
GAC will start selling GS4 crossovers with all-wheel drive system in Russia. The market launch is scheduled for September this year, the Telegram channel "Chinese Cars" reported on July 18, citing Ilya Novikov, strategy manager at GAC Motor Rus.
According to a company representative, the request for an all-wheel drive version comes mainly from consumers in Siberia and the Urals. Previously, this modification will receive the same power bundle as the flagship GS8 crossover — a 2.0 GDI turbo engine with a capacity of 231 hp in combination with an 8-speed automatic.
GAC introduced the GS4 crossover in Russia in March this year, the price of the new product starts from 3 million rubles. The model is offered in one configuration with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 170 hp (250 Nm) in conjunction with a 7-speed robot with two clutches, front-wheel drive only. With a body length of 4685 mm, the wheelbase is 2750 mm.
GAC representatives told Izvestia that the GS4 crossover is represented in a large segment, which previously had a Toyota RAV4 model, and many draw a parallel between it and the GS4.
On June 30, it was reported that the Toyota RAV4 crossover, also known as the Wildlander in a number of markets, became the best-selling car in the world by the end of 2024.
