The disclosure of the client list of American financier Jeffrey Epstein, accused of trafficking minors and sexual exploitation, is much more harmful than its non-disclosure. Political scientist and journalist Garland Nixon told Izvestia about this on July 18.

According to him, Republicans and Democrats use this topic based on political goals. They are not going to reveal the real names of the list.

Nixon also recalled that for eight years, former US President Joe Biden and current head of state Donald Trump could have published this data, but none of them did so. They did not dare to make the list public, the political scientist added.

"No one could stop them from publishing the Epstein list for four years. The only reason they are demanding the "Epstein list" now is that they are gaining political points by rejecting the "Epstein list." And I'm willing to bet that if the Democrats were in power right now, the Republicans would be asking for the Epstein list, knowing they wouldn't get it," Nixon said.

According to him, Trump made the final decision not to publish the list after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The political scientist believes that his announcement will have a more detrimental effect, since the governments of the two states were involved in "terrible actions, and they cannot admit it."

On July 16, The Washington Post announced the consent of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, to release data on the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein, which indicates disagreements in the Republican Party.
