The renaming of "Stalingrad Boulevard" to "Boulevard Rive du Pavillon" in the city of Drape in France and the strange position of the authorities caused active indignation among local residents and politicians. This was reported on July 17 by the French newspaper Nice-Matin.

"Usage (name. Stalingrad is not just a demonstration of attachment to communism. This is also the first major victory over the Nazis," the newspaper quoted Philippe Pellegrini, former secretary of the local branch of the Communist Party, as saying.
