In the first half of 2025, 3.2 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan received an electronic visa to Russia. This was announced on July 17 by the Russian Ambassador to the republic, Ivan Volinkin.

"In the first half of this year, 3.2 thousand electronic visas were issued to citizens of Turkmenistan, and 2.4 thousand people have already used them to enter Russia," he said.

An electronic visa allows you to stay in Russia for up to 16 days for tourist, business, humanitarian and guest purposes. It is issued on a special Internet portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and is paid by bank card.

Electronic visa processing for citizens of Turkmenistan became available back in 2024.

Earlier, on May 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was clarified that during the dialogue, prospects for the development of a mutually beneficial strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan were discussed.
