The plan announced by US President Donald Trump to supply weapons to Ukraine is a framework, not a detailed one. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 16, citing sources.

"Trump presented only a framework plan, not a specific plan," the publication says.

It is noted that the scale of military assistance to Ukraine and the timing of its dispatch will depend on the upcoming negotiations. According to the agency, the key issue will be the supply of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM).

According to an unnamed official, suitable candidates for the supply of Patriot to Ukraine are Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and Spain, which either have several SAM batteries themselves or face "relatively distant" threats. It is specified that the delivery of anti-aircraft systems may take a year.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported that some European Union (EU) countries learned about their participation in Trump's plan to supply weapons to Ukraine through European mediation only after an official statement by the American leader. It was clarified that the countries were also not informed about the details in advance.
