On Wednesday, July 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the Dyurtyuli—Achit section of the M–12 Vostok highway via video link.

"Today we are opening a new section of the Dyurtyuli—Achit road with a length of more than 275 km. It will become an important part of the M–12 Vostok highway. With its commissioning, modern highways will connect St. Petersburg and Moscow with Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Urals, Russia's leading scientific, industrial and cultural center," he said.
