Applications for the Startup Summit Awards have been accepted in Moscow.
The capital has started accepting applications for the Startup Summit Awards for technology market players. The award was established by the Moscow government and Sber, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
The purpose of the award is to highlight effective industry development practices, inspire large companies and investors to participate in supporting start—up entrepreneurs, as well as develop the economic potential of the regions.
Sergunina stressed that the ecosystem of technology business support created in the capital "covers all stages of creating innovative products — from developing ideas within accelerators to piloting ready-made solutions on urban sites."
"The award will become another tool for the development of this area both in Moscow and throughout Russia," Sergunina said.
As Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, emphasized, several hundred case applications from different regions of the country are expected.
"Together with the Moscow government, we want to inspire major players to strengthen cooperation with startups and projects that will determine the future of the Russian economy and innovation," he said.
The competition is held in 17 nominations. Startups, investors, representatives of corporations and regional development institutions can become participants.
Their projects will be evaluated according to criteria such as innovation, quality and scale of partnership, steady growth of financial indicators, as well as contribution to the development of technological entrepreneurship. The jury will include the heads of major Russian companies, entrepreneurs, investors, government officials and specialized educational institutions.
The award ceremony will be held in October. The winners will receive prizes from the award's partners and media support.
