The Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC) of Russia has agreed to initiate criminal proceedings against Judge Albert Trishkin of the 2nd Western District Military Court. This was reported by the Izvestia correspondent on July 16.

Trishkin is suspected of causing moderate harm to health from hooligan motives, motivated by hatred or enmity, with the use of weapons (paragraphs "d", "e", "z" of part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the materials of the pre-investigation check, in August 2024, Trishkin had a traffic conflict with a taxi driver, during which he shot the driver in the leg.

According to the judge, he found the gun two days before the incident, did not examine it and put it in the car. Only after the conflict did I find four cartridges in it. Trishkin stated that there was also violence on the part of the taxi driver. The judge apologized to the victim and tried to negotiate moral compensation, but, according to him, he named different amounts each time, starting from 600 thousand rubles and ending with 6 million rubles.

"I do not deny that I really caused harm to my health," Trishkin said, adding that he was in a heightened emotional state due to various reasons, including the situation in the country.

On July 7, Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, asked to open a case of moderate bodily harm against Trishkin.

Trishkin was appointed a judge of the military court in 2016. He specializes in criminal cases.
