Grushko pointed to NATO's interest in prolonging the conflict in Ukraine
NATO countries are interested in prolonging the conflict in Ukraine to exhaust Russia against the background of the alliance's statements about mediation in arms supplies to the Ukrainian side. This opinion was expressed on July 15 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
"This is further evidence that, in fact, NATO countries are interested in prolonging the conflict as much as possible in order to exhaust Russia," RIA Novosti quoted Grushko as saying.
At the same time, the deputy foreign Minister clarified that the Russian side has a negative attitude towards the plans of NATO and the United States to transfer weapons to the territory of Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, American political scientist Malek Dudakov told Izvestia that the NATO initiative to promptly deliver American weapons to Ukraine through its allies remains under discussion. He added that the alliance itself does not have budgets for the purchase of weapons.
On the eve of the American leader, Donald Trump, at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, said that the United States and the European Union (EU) had reached an agreement on the supply of weapons to Ukraine. According to him, the weapons will be produced by the American side, and European countries will pay for them.
