France pointed to the risk of a large-scale war in Europe by 2030
France has allowed a major armed conflict to erupt in the heart of Europe by 2030. This is stated in the country's "Strategic National Review" (RNS) for 2025, published on July 14.
"In the coming years, namely by 2030, the main threat to France and the Europeans will be the risk of open war in the very heart of Europe," the document says, published on the website of the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security (SGDSN) of France.
It also points to the alleged "Russian threat", which is expressed in alleged "espionage" and "flights" over the territories of some European states.
The drafters of the document urge the European countries to respond by maintaining a dialogue with each other, as well as working to bring their views closer together, taking into account different political priorities. In addition, it is important to consider the possibility of creating "the most effective army on the continent."
On July 13, French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans to increase the growth rate of defense spending. According to him, in 2027 in France this figure should reach €64 billion.
