The EU has already begun discussing the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions at an informal stage, member of the European Parliament Tomasz Zdechowski told Izvestia.

"Discussions on the 19th package are already underway, although they are at an early and informal stage. The main problem is the fatigue from sanctions — not political, but technical. After 18 months, restrictions were imposed on most of the obvious targets of sanctions. Now the focus is on tightening controls (for example, regarding circumvention of sanctions through third countries. — Ed.), the expansion of secondary restrictions, the clarification of export-import control,"— says "Izvestia" Zdekhovsky.

The EU has not yet been able to agree on another 18th package of sanctions.
