A greenhouse of tropical and subtropical plants will appear at VDNKH, which will become part of Russia's first biocluster, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

A new space of almost 330 sq. m. It will be built in the southern part of the square at the intersection of Khovanskaya Street and the ring road. The opening is scheduled for 2026.

There will be guided tours, workshops, lectures and other events. "The greenhouse will combine exhibition and scientific and educational functions. Dozens of plant species, including unique ones, will be planted under the glass dome," Sergunina said.

Specialists will create a climate zone in which various indicators, including temperature and humidity, will be independently regulated. A laboratory is being equipped separately for conducting classes on the study and cultivation of plants. An open-air lecture hall will appear nearby. Birch trees, bird cherry trees, mountain ash, firs, pines, willows, and juniper trees will be planted around.

Currently, another greenhouse is open to the public on the territory of the complex — it is located in Pavilion No. 14 "Computing Machinery and Informatics" (former "Azerbaijan SSR"). Olives, pomegranates, persimmons and other crops can be seen there. The greenhouse has been operating since 1959.

The biocluster at VDNKh was recently opened — it is a project of the Timiryazev State Biological Museum. His first location is Pavilion No. 29 "Floriculture and Landscaping". Four more themed venues will appear before the summer of 2026.
