Moldova called the case against Tauber a massacre of the entire opposition

The case against the executive secretary of the Pobeda opposition bloc, MP Marina Tauber, is a political reprisal against the entire opposition. Deputy of the Moldovan parliament Vasily Bolya told about this on July 14 in an interview with Izvestia.

"The prosecutors are asking for up to 13 years in prison for Marina Tauber. It is clear that this is one of the elements of a political crackdown on the entire opposition," Bolya said.

According to Boli, the case against Tauber was fabricated several years ago, when the politician participated in the election of the mayor of Balti. In December 2021, Tauber won in the first round, but the Central Election Commission of Moldova suspended the politician from further participation, accusing her headquarters of exceeding financial expenses for the election campaign.

On July 11, Moldovan prosecutors requested 13 years in prison for Tauber in the case of party financing. The prosecution also demanded that the Moldovan opposition MP be put on the wanted list, stripped of her rights to hold public office for a period of five years and 206 million lei ($12 million) confiscated.
