- The Russian government will allocate 15 billion rubles for the development of tourism in the regions
The Russian government will allocate 15 billion rubles for the development of tourism for 55 Russian regions of the Russian Federation, including the new territories of the state — Donbass and Novorossiya. This was announced on July 14 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during an operational meeting with his deputies.
"The key to developing the travel infrastructure is to expand the number of rooms for recreation, and for this purpose, on behalf of the head of state [Vladimir Putin] We are helping to create modular accommodation facilities across the country, including glamping and camping sites," he said.
According to him, the tourism industry is a significant factor in strengthening the socio-economic potential of cities and regions, contributes to the revival of architectural monuments, and also opens up opportunities for jobs and the growth of entrepreneurial activity, for example, in trade or construction.
Mishustin said that over the three years of the initiative, the government has allocated 20 billion rubles to 65 regions to create such accommodations for tourists. About 13 thousand rooms were also built. In addition, in 2025 and in the next two years, 15 billion rubles will be allocated for the same purposes, where more than 10,000 new jobs will appear throughout the country.
On June 17, it was reported that interest in student tourism increased by one and a half times. The Ministry of Education and Science clarified that since the beginning of 2025, 57 thousand participants have registered in the Studtourism program. It allows you to visit 117 Russian cities. So, within the framework of the project, young people pay for participation themselves, but the cost of housing during the trip is partially borne by partner universities.
