About 24,000 schoolchildren have become participants in the program of pre-professional holidays in Moscow this year. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

Pre—professional vacations are intensive immersion programs in a future specialty that take place in universities for four days. As part of the project, students get to know universities, gain more highly specialized knowledge, and practice using modern equipment.

"This year, 34 universities have become partners of the program, where almost 400 shifts of pre—professional vacations took place — 50 more than last year," Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.

In particular, the guys from the IT classes created projects using neural networks, machine vision and other technologies. And high school students from medical classes learned how to develop medicines, practiced surgery and genetic medicine.

The Mayor of Moscow noted that each student of the pre-professional class developed a project or conducted research on his profile on the basis of a partner university.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that pre-professional IT classes had been opened in 169 schools in Moscow. Their students get acquainted with sought-after professions in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, attend AI excursions and study days in the offices of IT companies.
