The KHL and NHL all-star hockey match took place in Moscow.

In Moscow, on July 13, the CSKA Ice Palace hosted the charity match of the year, in which the teams of the National and Kontinental Hockey Leagues (NHL and KHL) met. The NHL all-star team won with a crushing score of 15:3.

Both big and small hockey fans came to watch the match of the Year with the participation of NHL stars and the best KHL players. Although it was not easy to get to the match, the tickets flew away in the very first minutes after the start of sales.

"NHL stars don't come every day, but generally only for the match of the year. Of course, everyone wants to see them, so it will be interesting," said Andrey Razin, head coach of the Magnitogorsk Metallurg team.

Alexander Ovechkin, the captain of the Washington Capitals hockey club, said that fans come to such matches to enjoy the game. He added that he also gets positive emotions from spending time with the team.

During the match, the organizers presented Ovechkin with an SUV in honor of his record for goals in the regular NHL championships.

The Vostok team is the best KHL players, for whom playing against famous colleagues is a special event.

"The main hockey match of the year gathered a full arena of fans. The best of the best are on the ice. They would have joined the Russian national team for international games. But while there is a lockout for us, today's game is an opportunity to see potential national team players in action," said Izvestia correspondent Alexander Nadsadny.

A grandiose sporting event with show elements has a noble mission. Hockey players Mikhail Sergachev and Artemy Panarin are playing the main match of the year for the second time. The funds raised are used for rehabilitation and support of children and adults with cerebral palsy.

"Last year we played a match quite successfully, people liked it, most importantly, we helped the children, so the expectations are the same," said Artemiy Panarin.

This year, the charity foundation raised three times more funds than last year.
