Cameroon's leader Paul Biya, at the age of 92, has become a candidate for the presidency in the next elections, which will be held on October 12. He stated this on July 13 in the social network X.

"I'm running for the presidential election. <...> Rest assured that my determination to serve you is commensurate with the seriousness of the challenges we face. Together we will overcome any difficulties," Biya wrote.

Paul Biya has been President of Cameroon since 1982.

Earlier, on June 27, the son of US President Donald Trump, Eric, allowed participation in the US presidential election. He also stressed that other members of the Trump family could also get the post of American leader.
