In most Russian teams, the relationship between employees and management can be described as rather positive. This is evidenced by the results of a study by analysts at IFORS Research, which was reviewed by Izvestia on July 14. 1,600 working Russians over the age of 18 took part in the survey. The study was conducted on a representative sample, taking into account gender, age and type of settlement.

According to the survey, 53% of Russians describe their relationship with their immediate supervisor as good or friendly. Another 41% described them as formal and neutral, and only 3% reported tense or conflicted interactions.

It is clarified that the older the respondents, the more often they note the positive nature of the relationship: for example, 58% of participants over the age of 45 already talk about a successful interaction with their supervisor. Experts attribute this to professional maturity, the ability to build work communication and avoid sharp corners.

The study focuses on how relationships with superiors affect job engagement.

"81% of working Russians are confident that their motivation directly depends on how well their relationship with their boss is developing," IFORS Research analysts noted.

And among those who rate the relationship as good, this figure is even higher — 89%. In groups with formal relationships, the proportion of such responses is 71%, and in the presence of intense interaction — only 18%.

Difficulties in communicating with superiors often become the reason for leaving work. Here again, the influence of age is evident: among the older generation, only 50% have thought about this, while among the younger this figure reaches 61%.

According to analysts, this is influenced by both different stress tolerance and the ability to resolve conflicts among employees with extensive experience.

On June 4, Roskachestvo expert, head of the Beyond Taylor Unified Concept Department, Daria Afanasyeva, in an interview with Izvestia, talked about ways to make communication with superiors more open. Acknowledging one's own mistakes and shortcomings will help an employee build a trusting relationship with management.
