A rally was held near the Ukrainian Embassy in Hungary in memory of the deceased citizen of the country, who was forcibly drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the Bors newspaper on July 11.

"[Hungarian journalist] Zsolt Bayer called people to the Ukrainian Embassy on Friday evening <...> to honor the memory of Jozef Sebastien, who was subjected to forced conscription by Ukrainian soldiers and then beaten so severely that he died three weeks later," the publication says.

It is noted that after a minute of silence, there was a statement by several Hungarian journalists who expressed the opinion that there was no need to take part in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, especially as military personnel. It was also stated that Hungary has no place in the European Union (EU).

At the end of the rally, the crowd lit candles in memory of the deceased.

Earlier in the day, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced an investigation into the death of a Hungarian citizen in Ukraine due to mobilization. In his address, the politician called such cases unacceptable.
