- The Investigative Committee has launched a pre-investigation check on the fact of hitting pedestrians in Moscow.
The Investigative Committee (IC) has launched a preliminary investigation into a hit-and-run on pedestrians on Berezhkovskaya Embankment in Moscow, which injured at least five people, including two children. This was announced on July 11 by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSO) of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the capital on the Telegram channel.
"On this fact, the investigative authorities of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the city of Moscow have organized a pre—investigation check," the department said.
The exact number of victims as a result of the collision is still being clarified. Investigators are conducting an on-site inspection. The details and circumstances of the accident are being investigated.
"The driver just flew into a crowd of people. Some of them flew over the car, some just flew away," Gleb, an eyewitness, told Izvestia.
The progress and results of the inspection are under control at the Prosecutor's Office of the Western Administrative District of Moscow.
A car hit pedestrians on Berezhkovskaya Embankment in Moscow was reported earlier that day. According to the statement of the metropolitan Department of Transport, traffic in the area was hindered by 0.3 km.
