In Dagestan, the head of a housing and communal services institution was arrested after poisoning people with water

In Dagestan, the court arrested the director of the municipal institution of communal services of the Magaramkentsky district in the case of mass poisoning with water. This was reported on July 11 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee of the Republic.

"The court has chosen a preventive measure against the director of the MBU MR Magaramkentsky district Housing and Communal Services in the form of detention," the Telegram channel says.

The ministry noted that the defendant will remain in custody until September 9, 2025.

Mass poisoning in Dagestan: more than 100 people went to the hospital

Among the victims are children under 14 years of age.

On July 8, poisoned people with symptoms of intestinal infection turned to the Central District Hospital of the Magaramkentsky district of Dagestan. At the same time, it was reported that most of the victims of the infection were children. It was established that they drank water supplied to their homes through water supply lines. The number of people poisoned by water has increased to 372 people.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The next day, on July 9, the director of the municipal institution of the Magaramkent district was detained. A sanitary and epidemiological examination was ordered as part of the criminal case.
