One Polish diplomat has to leave Russia due to the closure of the Consulate General in Kaliningrad. This was announced on July 11 by the press secretary of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Pavel Vronsky.

"We are talking about one diplomat who has to leave the territory of the Russian Federation," he said during a briefing broadcast by TVP Info.

Vronsky announced retaliatory measures for the closure of the Consulate General, but did not specify exactly what steps Warsaw would take. The press secretary urged the population of the republic not to make tourist trips to the Russian Federation.

Earlier in the day, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the closure of the Polish Consulate General in Kaliningrad. It was clarified that the note was handed to the Charge d'affaires of Poland in the Russian Federation, who was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The consent to the functioning of the Consulate General is revoked from August 29.
