Climate change, intense sun and flights can be a serious challenge for the skin, so you should start preparing in advance. On July 16, Zarema Omarova, a dermatologist, cosmetologist, and co-owner of Dr. Omarov's clinic network, shared her recommendations on skin care before and during vacations with Izvestia.

She recommended two to three weeks before the trip to undergo a skin biorestructuring procedure using preparations based on hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. These components deeply moisturize the skin, enhance its ability to repair and protect it from free radicals formed under the influence of ultraviolet radiation. Two weeks before the vacation, aggressive procedures should be abandoned — median peels, laser resurfacing and other techniques that violate the integrity of the skin. Instead, mild peels, cleanses, or photodynamic therapy can be performed, which activates the natural resources of the skin.

"Before the trip, it is important to review the set of cosmetics. To protect against the sun, you will need a cream with an SPF of at least 50 and a water—resistant formula, as well as light moisturizing serums with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and ceramides," the cosmetologist added.

For those who are prone to hyperpigmentation, she advised adding lightening products to the care — arbutin, kojic acid or azelaic acid.

During the flight, the skin is especially in need of hydration. The specialist advises you to bring patches or gel with hyaluronic acid and caffeine, a moisturizing facial spray and lip balm. On vacation, it is important to update your sunscreen every 90 minutes, wear hats and sunglasses, and limit the use of heavy decorative cosmetics. After sun exposure, the skin should be treated with soothing products with aloe vera or panthenol.

Proper nutrition and intake of nutraceuticals will help support the skin from the inside. The diet should include vegetables, berries, nuts and fish rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, and a month before the vacation, start taking vitamins C and E, zinc and selenium.

After returning, the skin will need to be restored. Biorestructuring or mesotherapy procedures will help to replenish moisture loss and restore tone. In combination with photodynamic therapy, they will accelerate the regeneration of damaged cells.

"With proper preparation, the skin will look radiant and rested, not only due to a tan, but also due to its healthy state," Omarova emphasized.

On July 9, Louise Sakania, a dermatologist and cosmetologist at the Geltek Aesthetic Medicine Clinic, shared her skin care tips. For home care, you need to use moisturizing and nourishing creams and serums.
