Over the past day, 364 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 39 people were killed and 428 injured. 33 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on July 11 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

So, in Sevastopol, on 47 km of the Bakhchisarai —Sevastopol highway, an 18-year-old female passenger car driver with four months of driving experience did not provide an advantage in traffic at an unregulated intersection when leaving a secondary road for the main road and collided with another passenger car moving along the main road. As a result of the accident, both the inexperienced motorist and her four passengers were killed.

15 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 22 more road users, including one child, needed medical help. Eight bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

As a result of 64 accidents, 31 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 33 outside their area of operation, six pedestrians were killed, 58 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 19 child pedestrians, 14 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas. 58 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 66 young road users were injured, including 27 passengers, four cyclists and 11 motor transport drivers. There are no dead children.

Temporary closures or traffic restrictions are continuing in some regions of the country due to forest fires or flood conditions. So, in the Tyumen region, due to flooding of the roadway, traffic on 10 highways of regional significance was temporarily stopped.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that motorists, when planning long-distance trips, familiarize themselves with the weather forecast and media information about possible overlap sites, outlining detours in advance. If traffic restrictions are imposed or road sections are closed due to worsening weather conditions, the relevant information is promptly posted on the agency's website, as well as on the official pages of the service's divisions in social networks.

"We would like to draw drivers' attention to the fact that in summer, during frequent morning fogs, rains and thunderstorms, one should be extremely careful when driving: avoid sudden rash maneuvers and realignments on slippery roads, observe the interval and distance between vehicles, and do not exceed the set speed," said the head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child Traffic traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich.

It is necessary to move in conditions of insufficient visibility with external lighting devices turned on, fog lights should be used, and during heavy fog or heavy precipitation, reduce speed as much as possible and move with the alarm lights on. If you are involved in an accident, you should identify the scene of the accident, if necessary, call the traffic police, and if there are victims, an ambulance team.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Russian Interior Ministry has developed a draft "Strategy for improving road safety," according to which deaths in road accidents on the country's roads should decrease by one and a half times by 2030 and by half by 2036 compared to 2023.
