Indonesia has extradited to Russia a person accused of trafficking in personal data of Russians

Indonesia, thanks to the involvement of Interpol, extradited Alexander Zverev, accused of trafficking in personal information of Russians contained in information and reference arrays and databases of Russian government agencies, to Russia. This was announced on July 11 by the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the official website.

"A citizen of the Russian Federation has been extradited from the Republic of Indonesia, accompanied by employees of the Interpol National Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. He is accused of accepting bribes and violating privacy committed as part of an organized criminal community," the publication says.

The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, noted that in 2019, the attacker joined a criminal community that traded personal information of Russian residents.

"Thanks to the use of Interpol channels, the staff of the Russian Bureau, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, established that the wanted man is in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. <...> Today, at the airport in Denpasar, the accused was handed over to representatives of Russian law enforcement agencies for delivery to Moscow," commented Wolf.

A criminal case was opened against Zverev on the grounds of crimes under Articles 137 ("Violation of privacy"), 210 ("Organization of a criminal community (criminal organization) or participation in it") and 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe").

Earlier, on February 17, a resident of Orenburg was suspected of trafficking in "wiretapping" devices. The devices were placed in the premises of one of the entertainment venues in the city, where a lot of people usually gather. For his actions, the defendant received a reward of 141 thousand rubles from the customer, the owner of the institution.
