- The media reported on the cost of suppressing the strike of air traffic controllers in France
The strike of air traffic controllers in France has cost European airlines 120 million euros. This was reported on July 10 by the newspaper Le Figaro with reference to the traffic monitoring body Eurocontrol.
"The social movement <...> led to expenses of about €47 million for delays and about €73 million for cancellations of flights to the European aviation sector," the newspaper noted.
According to the newspaper, the strike of two unions of French air traffic controllers affected more than 1 million people. As a result of the protest, 1,422 flights were cancelled.
Earlier, on July 3, TF1 TV channel announced the cancellation of 40% of flights in Paris due to the strike of air traffic controllers. Earlier, the Unsa-Icna and USAC-CGT unions called for strikes due to "structural understaffing," "failed technical projects," and "a severely deteriorated social context."
