Ryabkov said there was no anti-American sentiment in the BRICS
BRICS is not an anti-American association. This was announced on July 10 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, commenting on the statements of American President Donald Trump.
On July 8, President Trump announced that the United States would impose import duties of 10% on countries that support the "anti-American" policy of the BRICS.
"BRICS is not an anti—American association, and nothing on the BRICS agenda contains an anti—American component," Ryabkov said at a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya international multimedia press center.
He also noted that the Russian side is following the statements of the US administration very closely. According to him, similar signals have been heard from them before.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 6 that cooperation within the BRICS had never been and would not be directed against third countries.
