A worker died due to steam release at a factory in the Volgograd region.
One person was killed and four injured as a result of pipe depressurization and steam release at a metallurgical plant in the Volgograd region. This was reported on July 10 in the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"A cotton explosion occurred at a metallurgical enterprise in the city of Volzhsky during the production of work, as a result of which one employee was killed, four more were hospitalized in a medical facility with burns of varying severity," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
It is specified that the doctors assess the condition of two of the injured as severe, and two more as moderate.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 2 of Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of labor protection requirements resulting in the death of a person by negligence"). An investigative and operational group is working on the site, a set of measures is being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the accident.
