Large—scale modernization continues at Gorky's Film Studio in Moscow: construction work is underway at two sites at once - in Valdai Passage and on Sergei Eisenstein Street.

According to the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, who visited the first location, "all the old buildings have been demolished there, which are morally and physically outdated and have not been used for filming movies for many, many years."

According to him, a "world-class studio complex" is now being built there. "It will have 10 pavilions, a Visual Technology Center, virtual scenery studios, installation and color correction, motion capture, dressing rooms and much more," the mayor wrote on his Telegram channel. The studio's area will more than double to 100,000 square meters, and major work is planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, Sobyanin added.

He also said that Gorky's film Studio will become part of the Moscow Film Cluster. The large—scale Moscow - Cinema City project being implemented in the capital provides for "the modernization of existing facilities and the creation of new infrastructure, as well as the development of special services to increase the production of high-quality international film content." The cluster under the Moskino brand also includes a film park, a film factory and a cinema chain, as well as a digital film platform and a film commission.
