Red Bull Racing announced a change of leadership: Christian Horner, who has led the team since 2005, is leaving the post of CEO and team leader. This was announced on July 9 in a press release on the official website.

"Red Bull has relieved Christian Horner of his operational duties effective today (Wednesday, July 9, 2025) and appointed Laurent Mekis as CEO of Red Bull Racing," a team spokesman confirmed.

It is specified that 51-year-old Horner became the longest-serving head of the Formula 1 team, having led Red Bull from the first season of participation in the championship. Under his leadership, the team has achieved outstanding success — four world championship titles with Sebastian Vettel (2010-2013) and four more with Max Verstappen (2021-2024).

"We would like to thank Christian Horner for his exceptional work over the past 20 years. <...> Thank you for everything, Christian, and you will forever remain an important part of our team's history," said Oliver Minzlaff, Director of Corporate Projects and Investments at Red Bull.

On July 5, Ferrari team driver Charles Leclair showed the best time in the third session of the free races of the 12th stage of the Formula 1 championship, the British Grand Prix. The competition was held in Silverstone (England). Leclair scored the best lap in 1 minute, 25.498 seconds.
