Investigators have charged the organizer of the Khibiny trail race, during which two people died. This was reported on July 9 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee for the Murmansk region.

"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Murmansk Region have charged the general director of a commercial organization with providing services that do not meet security requirements," the Telegram channel says.

The department noted that the suspect had been given a preventive measure that was not related to imprisonment. Currently, investigators are collecting evidence against the defendant.

On July 6, the governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrey Chibis, announced that two people died in Kirovsk during the Khibiny amateur trail race — a 62-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, as well as a 47-year-old Muscovite. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. Anton Permyakov, a participant in the competition, told Izvestia that the weather conditions of the race were extreme.

Later, in Kirovsk, Murmansk region, the director of the company that organized the Khibiny trailer race was detained.
